In this post you will find less explored 3 tourist places near Delhi/NCR. If you have time of one day and want change from your daily life, then these are some awesome places to consider.

1. Siliserh Lake, Alwar, Rajasthan - Boating with wildlife viewing: This is just 150 kms from Delhi and is one of the best but lesser known places. I call this place "Heaven out of nowhere" because you will never understand its beauty until unless you visit this place. The view of this place is breathtaking. Surrounded by low rise hill on three sides and in the middle of that a huge lake covering 12 sq. kms with crocodiles. YES, you read it right there are Crocodiles in this lake. It's thrilling because you can do boat riding, scuba diving as well despite the fact knowing that this lake has more than 100 crocodiles. This is a Man-made lake made by the king to fulfill the water needs for Alwar city. There is a government hotel cum restaurant from there you can enjoy the awesome view of this lake. Best time to explore this place is July to February, but monsoon is the best time to visit. Entry fee to this places is Rs. 100/person through restaurant cum hotel which includes vehicle parking and any one tea, coffee, water bottle, soft drink. Just 10 kms from here is a small water fall Garwaji waterfall) best time to visit this waterfall if only during monsoon when it’s raining, else you will be disappointed. Siliserh Lake is around 25 kms from Alwar railway station on Jaipur-Alwar road. You can also visit Sariska Tiger reserve which is around 23 kms from this place and also can consider Bangarh Fort (India’s most haunted place) which is around 89 kms for 2nd Day trip. There are 4 tolls from Delhi (One on NH8, other Three between Bhiwadi to Alwar pay at one)

2. Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan - Historic fortress from the 17th Century: This is also an ideal places for one day visit from Delhi, around 240 kms from New Delhi via Alwar and around 75 kms from Jaipur via Aandhi is known to be India’s most haunted place. There is a signboard outside the main gate that where it is mentioned that visiting after sunset is not allowed. From the main gate you have to walk around 800 mts. There are more than 1000 monkeys usually they don’t do anything but it’s always good to beware. The fort complex is so beautiful that I wondered why it is a haunted place. Huge old trees are here and fort ruin soon after the entrance will definitely make this place scary after sunset. It gives a feeling of mediaeval period. Temple is there inside the complex and the fort has steep entrance where you can find Bats as well. There is a small pond and water in that pond comes from a natural steam. Entry is free and no parking charges are there. There is a small vendor outside gate apart from that you will not get anything inside the fort complex. From the fort in covered with low rise hills from three side and from front a long plain along with some low-rise hills can be seen. This place is good for photography but done expect anything else. Approach road itself to Bhangarh comes along side Sariska Tiger Reserve so you will get a feeling that you are actually driving inside a forest. From Delhi there are around 5 Tolls (one on NH8, three till Alwar -pay at one & last is after Alwar)
