Lesser Known Awesome tourist places near Delhi/NCR

Sultanpur National Park. Gurugram - Just in the vicinity of Gurugram this place is just 14 kms from Hero Honda Chowk and merely 23 kms from Dwarka Sector 21 metro station via Dwarkaexpress way (Currently under construction but still easily accessible) is one of the best one day picnic spot near Delhi/NCR. To cover this entire park you will need One n half hour atleast, with lots of migrant birds visiting this park/lake every year. Idle time to visit this park is between Sep-Feb and best time is Nov-Dec-Jan when lots of rare migrant birds comes here. Its a bird paradise. Parking Rs. 10/20 per vehicle per entry. Damdama Lake, Sohna - This lake is situated just after crossing South of Gurugram on the way to Sohna. This lake has water all round the year but in very less quantity, but during monsoon you can expect enough water here. There are many camps available here for one day picnic and more. Far away from traffic and pollution visiting once is worth. There is a government restaurant cum bar for food and beverages. (Video link: Damdama Lake)

Najafgarh Jheel Bird Sanctury, Delhi - Not at all famous and I bet that you must have never heard of this place earlier. Its a nice places for bird watchers within Delhi next to Gurugram. Worth place for relaxing and watching birds. Nothing concrete is there but for a Sunday small trip its another idle place to be at.

Basai Wetlands, Gurugram - Just next to the Dwarkaexpressway and Sector 9 of Gurugram, its a huge patch of water all around the year. Except for watching birds and under construction Dwarkaexpressway way you can see Trains passing by on Delhi-Rewari route. This place can be considered as stop-watch-n-go. Maybe in coming years this place become something due to Dwarkaexpressway and upcoming so many societies.

Asola Wildlife Sanctuary Bhatti Mines, Delhi - Situated south of Delhi towards Faridabad. Asola Bhatti Mines is not a motor-able road. There are many treks which leads to many small lakes here. Advisable to come here only in groups. Females are only advisable when there are more than 5-8 boys in group. You can also able to find many breathtaking views which you have never imagined in your life that its exists. If lucky enough you can encounter with leopards as well. Yes you read it right, please do have encountered with leopards in this place.

Bhardwaj Lake - This lake is inside Asola Sanctuary which is situated in South Delhi to reach there you need to take the straight road from Chattarpur till Asola then park you vehicle somewhere safe and after a long 40 minutes walk you will reach this clean water surrounded by greenery. But better is to reach Sector 43 of Faridabad and then enter from there. Avoid going alone there, going in a group of 5 or more is better for navigation as well as safety purpose.

Coral Lake/Death Valley/CITM Lake - As mentioned above same goes for these lakes as well, do visit this places to get many surprises and enjoy the nature. These all are worth visiting. Better if you enter these places from Faridabad side on Gurugram-Farridabad Expressway

Badkhal Lake, Faridabad - Another famous but less visited place near Delhi/NCR, badkhal lake is a place which many people must have heard of, its situated in Faridabad and this lake come up due to mining and the water level have also fallen due to illegal mining.

Siliserh Lake, Alwar, Rajasthan - Its just 150 kms from Delhi, ideal for one day trip. The lake is surrounded by low rise hills from three sides which makes it an awesome location to visit. Better go during or soon after the monsoon season to enjoy more beauty. Here you can do boat riding, scuba diving and many more but wait... there are more than 100 crocodiles in this lake, normally there is no conflict with humans but its better to beware. One restaurant is also there to fulfill your small hungers. As an excursion you can visit Garwaji waterfall which is 10 kms from this place, its a small waterfall with lot of monkeys. Bhangarh Fort, Bhangarh, Rajasthan - Once a blooming city/fortress which got ruined within a night. This places is officially announced as the most haunted place in India which is around 250 kms from Delhi via Alwar. You can start early morning and can return back to Delhi by 8 pm after visiting this place. Its a quite place surrounded by hills on three sides. A long walkway is there between main door and fort. A huge beautiful park is there along with a small pond type water patch. A big temple is there in middle, apart from many monkeys and langoors you will see Bats here as well. Tourists are not allowed to stay here beyond sunset.

Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan - Just around 200 kms from Delhi, Sariska is a perfect weekend trip for 2 days, here you can see Tiger and many other wild animals. It also has Sariska Palace which gives you an awesome staying experience (if you can afford it).
